At Zapgo one of our core beliefs is that you should enjoy where you charge. Offering charge points at places people want to visit encourages EV uptake and boosts businesses, creating a win-win situation for everyone. Speaking of winning, we’re excited to announce our brand-new partnership with football organisation Fair Game! Like Zapgo, Fair Game is committed to positive change; working with football clubs to improve their impact on both their local community and the wider game.
Teaming up with Fair Game gives us exclusive access to the 33 lower league and non-league football clubs that make up the group. Clubs that take up our charge points can look forward to EV charging hubs at both their stadiums and training grounds. This won’t only help them to make the transition to green energy but also provides an additional revenue stream even on non-match days and offseason. In turn this represents a significant financial boost for grassroots football, offering clubs the chance to improve their economic future and underlines Zapgo’s aim to help underserved communities and businesses benefit from the EV transformation.
Niall Couper, CEO of Fair Game, explains what this means for the clubs they work with:
“We are delighted to work with Zapgo on providing football clubs with a supplementary revenue stream in addition to providing local communities with vital infrastructure as the economy transitions to green energy. Zapgo’s principles of focusing on the local community with a sustainable approach to business made them a natural partnering opportunity which will benefit Fair Game member clubs.”
For Partnerships and Marketing Director of Zapgo, Dee Humphries, Fair Game represents the perfect partner for Zapgo, she tells us why:
“Signing our first commercial agreement with Fair Game, an organisation which proudly shares our commitment to sustainability and community, marks a significant milestone for Zapgo. This strategic partnership positions Zapgo well to capitalise on opportunities for further growth as we seek to introduce our rapid EV charging solutions to 33 football clubs across England. This expansion represents a key step in strengthening our growing role in the EV charging sector and we are proud to support grassroots football in communities underserved by existing charging infrastructure.”
As we kick off conversations with the Fair Game clubs, we’ll be bringing you updates across our social channels of when and where the first chargers will appear. We look forward to supporting you and your club.
